Should we reserve in advance?

Tours and rentals can fill up quickly, so we do recommend making advanced reservations. If it rains, we refund your tour 100% or reschedule (your choice). If the book now feature is closed for a tour or rental, give us a call.

What is your cancellation policy?

Our cancellation policy allows a customer to cancel a tour or rental for a full refund up until 48 hours prior to their scheduled tour ore rental time. If it rains, we refund your tour 100% or reschedule (your choice).

Where do we meet for tours and rentals?

We meet at our shop located inside the old Shippey House in the Historic Downtown Himmarshee Village. Our address is 220 SW 3rd Ave, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33312. We definitely recommend using Google Maps and NOT Apple Maps for directions.

Do I need to sign a liability waiver?

All participants must sign a waiver and minors (under age 18) must have a guardian sign for them. To speed things up, sign before arriving via one of these digital links:

Kayak FAQ

What types of kayaks do you rent?

All of our kayaks are sit on top, which are very stable and durable. We offer single and two-person (tandem) kayaks, both of which are perfect for exploring the “Yachting Capital of the World.”

How deep will the water be?

In the New River you can expect the water to be between 10-25 feet deep in most parts of the river.

What happens if I fall off?

You get wet! Our crew will fully cover what to do in case you do go in the water.

Do I have to wear a life jacket?

The coast guard has determined that a kayak is a “vessel under way.” Therefore, you must have a PFD (personal flotation device, or life jacket) and a signaling device (whistle) in your possession at all times while operating the watercraft. They are also required by our insurance company. All rentals and tours include life jackets.

What should I wear?

Please wear comfortable clothing, yoga pants, swimsuit, light layered clothing and flip flops, water shoes or shoes you don’t mind getting wet. Sunglasses, sunscreen and a hat are a great for sun protection.

I have knee/back/other medical issues. Can I learn to kayak?

Maybe, but before taking on a new sport or exercising you should consult and get clearance from your doctor.

How deep will the water be?

What happens if I fall off?

You get wet! Our beginner boards are very stable and difficult to fall off. It’s also easy enough to get back on. Our crew will explain how to get back on board if you fall in.
